Come and Join Wales’ First Youth COP Event (Conference of the Parties). Climate change is the most pressing issue the world faces today. Young people have a right to have their say and be part of the solution. Wales’ first ever youth COP event plans to give them that opportunity. Apply now to take part!
Wales Youth COP event is modelled on the UN Conference of the Parties (COP). For nearly three decades, the United Nations (UN) has been bringing together almost every country in the world for these global climate summits. Our Wales youth COP will offer young people from across Wales the chance to meet Welsh Government ministers, have their say and learn more about the solutions to climate change.
Organised by Size of Wales, a Welsh charity with a focus on climate and tropical forests, and other partners and funded by the Welsh Government, this two-day event offers young people the chance to experience a large-scale climate change event.
Purpose of event
We hope the event will:
- Link Welsh young people with global conversations on climate change and provide opportunities for their voices to be heard.
- Provide opportunities for Welsh Ministers to hear from and work with young people and to feed into Welsh Government climate plans.
- Provide opportunities for young people to hear from groups and organisations across Wales about their work on climate change and how they can get involved and take action to reduce their emissions and inspire others to bring about change.
- Give those that attend hope that action is being taken on climate change
