We are supporting communities across Wales to take positive actions that reduce their impact on forests and benefit the environment.
The Wales and Global Responsibility report shows how Wales contributes to this issue by importing everyday products from areas with a high risk of deforestation. These include 190,000 tonnes of soy, 12,000 tonnes of beef, 51,000 tonnes of palm, and 6,000 tonnes of leather each year.
Deforestation Free Communities brings together schools, businesses, farming communities, local government and community groups to tackle this issue. The programme pilot will begin in Monmouth, where the community will work collaboratively and look at ways to improve their access to more sustainable food and goods.
