“As a primary teacher, Anwen enjoyed engaging pupils in learning about the environment and how to protect it. Training as a Forest School leader and Wellbeing in Nature Practitioner, she learnt about the importance of biodiversity, the threats facing our natural world and the actions needed to protect our planet. Volunteering with a local gardening group, Anwen is also passionate about planting for pollinators whilst promoting awareness of climate change and the value of nature connection in her community.
“I firmly believe in global responsibility, how we are all connected, and can help each other. I also feel proud that Size of Wales and our country are contributing to positive change around the world. I look forward to working with young people and encouraging them to take action in combating deforestation. Not everyone can be a Greta Thunberg! But we can all play our part in responding to the challenge of climate change and make a small, but real difference to our world.”
