Size of Wales is a growing, ambitious Cardiff-based charity with global impact. We work to mobilise Wales to protect tropical forests and restore tropical forest landscapes as part of Wales’ national response to climate change. We do this through education and awareness raising activities in Wales as well as funding and supporting a number of overseas projects.

Size of Wales has been going through an exciting period of growth, having substantially increased our income and expanded our team. 2020/21 marks our 10-year anniversary and we are launching an ambitious new 5-year strategy seeking to respond to the climate emergency and to mobilise Wales to achieve maximum impact for tropical forests.

We are looking for an experienced and creative communications and marketing specialist to help us grow our profile and reach new audiences across Wales and beyond. The Communications and Marketing Manager will be responsible for the design, planning and implementation of all of Size of Wales’ communications activities including press and other media relations, campaigns, social media, website, newsletter, and videos. This will include engaging with the Size of Wales team and partners to create inspiring and innovative content. The role will also be responsible for regularly engaging with Size of Wales’ community of regular and individual givers: communicating with potential and existing regular givers and growing this as an income stream for the charity through marketing activities.

The successful candidate will be passionate about the environment and be committed to inspiring people to act on climate change. You will be creative and dynamic and have a strong track record of designing and delivering powerful communications and marketing campaigns. You will be highly organised, experienced in managing teams and projects and skilled at balancing competing deadlines efficiently. As the majority of our communications work is delivered bilingually, you will also have a high standard of written and spoken English and Welsh.

Salary for the role is in the range of £27,000 – £32,000 dependent on experience. The package of benefits includes a 6% pension contribution, 30 days annual leave including bank holidays and a flexible working’ policy. The role is based in Cardiff but with regular remote working if desired. The role is a full-time role but applications for part time working, flexible working and job shares will also be considered.
